This Spring I painted a new collection (Renewal is a constant in my work, mapping my own deep inner journey as it unfolds alongside my many projects) and sold my first painting! It’s called Spring Coming.

“Spring Coming” took as its starting point the god of transformation, Janus. Its mood is very much about the constancy of inconstancy in nature.

The other paintings in the collection are:

The Gateway” , which demanded to be painted, flowing out from the colours as a river to the sea, effortlessly, inexorably and joyfully. This is currently my favourite painting.

The Gateway

Be Coming” was a more painful journey, appearing in stages, layer upon layer. It has about it a strangely complete yet incomplete feeling suggesting the process in the title.

Finally “Piscean Relating” is one of a sequence of astrologically inspired paintings, capturing the inner essence of those born in the deeply transformative early springtime of Pisces.

Very much in the spirit of Renewal, I use pre-loved frames for my work wherever possible.
