Bala Brook Retreat Centre is situated on the southern edge of Dartmoor National Park in South Devon.
The closest train station is in Totnes, 6 miles away. We will arrange pick-up by private car or taxi from the station.
For those who are flying into the UK there are two options:
London airports will all have tube, bus or train links to Paddington Station where you can catch a train to Totnes. Once you have booked, and established which airport you will be flying into, we can provide more information on the best way to make your way to Paddington Station.
The train journey takes around 3 and a half hours depending on the train you choose. You can buy advance single and return tickets, and reserve seats here. Advance tickets are considerably cheaper than those bought on the day.
Bristol airport has a very convenient airport bus service which leaves hourly or two-hourly 24 hours a day. Return tickets can be bought on the bus or online and currently cost £22.00. Journey time is just over 2 hours.
If you are coming from Bristol on the Falcon airport bus you will be picked up by private car or taxi from the Marley Head drop off point, which is less than 2 miles from the venue.
All participants will be dropped off at either Marley Head bus stop or Totnes train station on the final day (Tuesday 6th August).
During the course, local transport will include taxis or private car to collect participants from pick up points, and a local mini bus to take us on our project visits.
